Belichick - Not Brady - Needs to Go in New England

The Revolving Door is Broken in New England

The hottest RB in the NFL - going into the playoffs last year - was Lagarrett Blount.
One game away from the Superbowl - after just 5 carries - Belichick pulled him vs Denver.  What he didn't realize, was that the defense was expending a lot of energy and personel stopping Blount. With Blount out - The defense focused on Brady and the Pats missed another Superbowl. Blount lasted just 1 season in New England.

KC blitzed Brady last night. When your are blitzed you run.
RB Ridley ran for 176 yards last week vs Oakland. He had only 5 carries vs KC last night.

Belichick has cut a laundry list of players in their prime. Welker is just one of many. So many, it has become standard procedure in New England. You have to wonder if Belichick only uses paper plates and plastic silverware at home.

Brady must feel like a Military Brat - having to make new friends every year. As I watched Brady warm up last night - it scared me. I had the Chiefs. What was I thinking? Betting against this focused hit man. I was thinking about the revolving door. Defensive linemen are fast these days. You have to release quickly or get sacked. You need open receviers for that. There weren't  any. That leaves 2 options - get sacked or throw a pick. Brady did both.

The one area the revolving door has not effected is the offensive line. All the offensive linemen have been with the pats for 4 or 5 years. All are over 26 and two over 30. They may or may not be the problem. Trying to rotate new ones in at Arrowhead -  with ear shattering crowd noise, was insane.

They say there is a fine line between genius and insanity. Belichick has displayed both. Remember when Belichick went for it on 4th down on his own 30 - to prevent Manning from getting the ball?  Peyton got the ball on downs and scored. Everyone knows Brady needs go to receivers. Thompkins and Dobson each had 4 TDs last year in just 9 starts - they were both emerging as premier receivers. Both were deactivated and unavailable to Brady Monday Night.

There comes a time when stubborn unflinching Coaches are better suited to yelling at kids to get off the lawn. That time has come for Belichick.

The Pat's are full of talent. They have, arguably the best QB in the league, a ton of talented Receivers, solid RBs, and stars on defense. If things are going south - there is only one person to blame. QBs do not orchestrate game plans or make personnel decisions.

When Brady starts consistently missing open receivers - call me. Until then, place the blame where it belongs, on the stubborn guy in the hoodie with the headset on.
